My first “utter” – Prison, elephants, and becoming a bigger person
Mobile post sent by bodhipaksa using Utterli. Replies. mp3
This is my first post created using Utterli, where I call a phone number and the message is automatically turned into an audio file that can be posted to my blog. It seems to have gone well, technically speaking, except that the email I sent with accompanying text didn’t make it into the body of the post. It seems that was my fault though, I posted from the wrong email account.
Update: For some weird reason the link to the post didn’t work. Utterli automatically gave the post the URL http://www.bodhipaksa.com/archives/1529 – but that came up as a broken link, even though “1529″ was actually the “post slug.” Once I renamed the post slug the link worked fine. The post also lacked a title, but that’s probably because I messed up the email. I also neglected to set up a default title, which is what should have shown up when the email didn’t arrive. Teething troubles! I’ll try again soon and see if I an get this to work more smoothly.

That’s great work you do in prison. Good to hear your voice; is that a Scottish accent I hear?
Thanks for the appreciation, and you correctly identified my accent! I was born in Dundee but brought up 25 miles away, in Glenrothes, Fife, where the accents are completely different. But as a result of moving around in my adulthood my accent is probably just vaguely east-coast.
Well Bodhipaksa, I sort of had an advantage in the identification department. Having several dear Scottish friends here where I live, it’s an accent I hear quite frequently. I know several Glaswegians and a couple from Aberdeen. I’d love to get to Scotland one day….
