How should Buddhist vegetarians relate to meat-eaters?

This is a response to a question raised by Dharmasuri of Nagaloka Buddhist Center in Portland, Maine, in response to the concerns of one of her sangha members.

  1. I am not a vegetarian (not Buddhist for that matter) but I like your approach to how to address people that are, as I do have an interest in it just haven’t made the beginning steps and encouragement goes a long way over demanding.
