John McCain needs a good talking to
Apparently John McCain is “absolutely proud” of the RNC’s new mailer, which has a cover saying “Terrorists don’t care who they hurt” and then opens to reveal a picture of Barack Obama.

I’m saddened that John McCain has decided that it’s more important to try to win the election by any means than it is to end with his honor intact. I’m also sad that he hasn’t recognized that the US has changed since the days such despicable negative campaigning on the part of the Bush campaign derailed his last presidential bid.
Over and over again it’s been shown that negative campaigning and lies are turning voters away from the GOP, and yet McCain’s team seem incapable of learning, and just keep on repeating the same old mistakes, but getting worse each time. I can only assume that they think they will reach some kind of tipping point where they can panic people into believing that there must be something in their obscene suggestions that one of the most promising politicians of modern times is either a terrorist
This is not a man who sees America as you see it and how I see America. We see America as the greatest force for good in this world … Our opponent though, is someone who sees America it seems as being so imperfect that he’s palling around with terrorists who would target their own country. (Palin)
“Barack Obama. Not who you think he is.” (RNC flyer, and general campaign slogan)
or sympathetic to terrorists
Barack Obama: Thinks terrorists need a good talking to. (RNC flyer)
After this is all over and Obama is in the White House, a few years down the road, we’re going to hear John McCain doing one of his famous mea culpas, where he confesses that he was on the wrong track and allowed himself to be mislead by others. Generally his confessions are endearing and in the past they’ve bolstered his image as a straight-talking politician (he admits he lies, which is a rare thing), but this time I can’t see how he’ll be able to restore his tarnished honor. I’m sad for him.

you know as well as any intelligent person does: the beauty of this kind of attack is that the attacker can hide behind the fact that no one IS saying that obama is a terrorist.
BUT, because palin has been saying daily that he ‘pals around’ with them, SIMPLE PEOPLE will be lead to believe that he is associated with them. this kind of communique is made EXPRESSLY to play to that kind of persons fear and ignorance. read the rest of this article here: http://blog.petermcconnel.com/?p=35
