The top ten random but deep and meaningful things I did today
- You don’t realize sometimes how much you like an app like Tweetdeck until it "upgrades" to something like this. The application had prompted me to upgrade and I found that there was an ad in the background, making it hard to read my Twitter feed, which is after all the entire point of the application.
- I posted a few warnings to people and one person on Twitter told me I was panicking and that it was "nothing." It’s amazing how these things spiral out of control. I pointed out that it wasn’t nothing to me and that she might want to just accept that and move on, and the next thing I knew I was reading this: "Bodhipaksa, I’ve had it with your so called smart replies. That’s all you’re about: outsmarting someone else. Have a nice life." The funny thing is, she’s right. I spend the entire day thinking of nothing but how to outsmart people. I even dream about it at night. I’m really a very evil person. Don’t you think evil people have more fun?
- Tweetdeck seem to have "fixed" the issue — when I reinstalled the app the advertisement was gone.
- At lunchtime today it was 12:34:56 7/8/9. I was too busy eating french toast to observe the festivities. Or maybe my french toast was my observation of the festivities. It’s hard sometimes to know how to properly celebrate random events.
- I got this message today from John Herman, who directed the film I was in recently: "In case you didn’t hear: we did not get the coveted Audience Award. That award appropriately went to "Stalling" by Wax Idiotical Films. In other news, we’ve been invited to the Best of New Hampshire 48HFP Screening and Awards Ceremony. Yes, the judges have finally made their decisions on Best Cinematography, Best Actor/Actress, Best Film, etc. Just because we are invited does not mean we’ve won anything. Nevertheless, it should be another fun evening hobnobbing with filmmakers. Join me: Best of New Hampshire 48HFP Screening and Awards Ceremony, Wednesday July 22nd at 7:30 p.m., Red River Theatres, 11 South Main Street, Concord. Tickets may be purchased online (credit card required) OR at
the Red River Theatres. - I agree with John. "Stalling" did deserve the audience voting award. It was an amazing achievement for 48 hours of work.
- I’m disappointed with Obama’s approach to so-called "terrorist" detainees, which is a direct continuation of the Bush policy of indefinite detention without due process. The is a new concept in US justice — even if you’re acquitted we’ll keep you locked up.
- I finished the draft of the chapter I was working on. I thought it went well. We’ll see once I re-read it in a few days. Actually, an hour or so after printing off the draft I realized there was more material I should add at the end. So it goes.
- The Crooked Birch sweet chili and garlic sauce I picked up at the Newmarket Farmers’ Market is awesome!
- I posted some photographs of my beautiful son today.
