Wordless Wednesday 06/04/08
My Great Great Grandfather Peter Wallace (my father’s mother’s father’s father). Born 1827. This is a very primitive photograph, and much faded. This scan brings out pretty much all the retrievable information.

I have seen old photos, but…. soooo old… 1827, never. Digital technology helps you preserve this way. Take good care of the actual shot. I am glad you shared.
My mom has a lot of old photos that would probably benefit from scanning and messing with them digitally. Many of them are oversized for my flatbed scanner, so I think I will have to go somewhere professional to get them digitized.

It’s actually my aunt Betha who has all these photographs, but I’m going to make a case for my taking care of them when she passes on, because I’m the one in the family that has the greatest interest in genealogy, family photographs, etc. At the moment they’re all either in an album or just floating around in a cardboard box, which isn’t ideal!
