Louise: A rickshaw is for carrying people. This is just a cart.

Sukhmandir: This was one of the emptiest carts I saw. Many of them carried improbably large loads!

Elijahsong: Yes, very different in some ways. One thing about Ethiopia is how many people walk compared to the US. The country roads are full of people walking, even many miles from town.

Debbie: As far as I can make out he’s tangled with a strap or lead of some sort.

This reminds me so much of a donkey cart I saw in Pakistan piled with sugarcane. Two boys rode on top. When the came to a corner they had to get off and push. The tiny donkey’s tongue hung out about a foot. I’ll never forget it!
