Great great grandmother, Mary Lickley

This is my great great grandmother, Mary Lickley (née Robertson). She was married to Leslie Lickley.

I believe she was born 1841 and died 1907. Married 1859.

What an amazing picture! It’s like going back in time. My, how I wish I had photos like this of my ancestors. I bet I’d see much of myself in them.

My own WW contribution will be up later this eve, but for now, I’ve posted a link to a neat new photographic activity on my site. It’s called Thematic Photographic, and here’s the link to get right into it:

I hope you can come by and check it out.

    All the best!

This is very cool. I wonder if my mother still has the old photos that she got from my grandmother. I should give her a call and find out. They would be fascinating.

    Happy WW!

    Hi Clarence,

Yes, she seems to have been born in Alyth, and then moved to Dundee where she married and eventually died. Dundee is where I was born as well. Her husband (there’s a link to his picture) worked on whaling ships and also on diving bells during the construction of the Tay rail bridge.
